The festival has evolved from an annual two week international event during August into a month long Asian Oktoberfest. Festivities generally start late July and run through August. The festival is one of the largest of its kind in Asia and has been celebrated since its inception in 1991, showcasing not only China's rich brewing traditions but also international beers from around the globe.
